Hans-Ulrich Klose, Coordinator of German-American Relations:
German-American Relations: Where Are We Headed?
Deutsch-Amerikanische Beziehungen: Wie geht es weiter?
Moderated by Frank Piplat, Leiter des Informationsbüros des Europäischen Parlaments

The John F. Kennedy School will welcome Hans-Ulrich Klose (SPD), who was appointed by German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle in March as “Coordinator of German-American Cooperation in the Field of Inter-Societal Relations, Cultural and Information Policy.”
“As coordinator, I’m something of a ‘transatlantic scout,’ both in practice and orientation,” the diplomat said, in an interview on the German Foreign Office website. “That is to say, I try to help Germans understand how the most important issues are perceived in America. And, on the other hand, I want to explain to people overseas what makes Germans tick.”
The lecture will be followed by a discussion and a reception to encourage the audience to continue the conversation.
Wednesday, June 9, 2010, 7 p.m.
