John F. Kennedy Week

26. – 28.5.2010

Don‘t ask what your country can do for you, but what can you do for your country!

Who was John F. Kennedy? What was his message? How did our school get its name?

From May 26 through 28, all students were given the opportunity to study the life, achievements, and significance of John F. Kennedy for our country and this city, through various projects, creative productions, films, and guided tours. A special thanks to all teachers who, with extraordinary commitment and creativity, found different ways to bring John F. Kennedy to life for our students.

The 50th Anniversary Committee organized a special series of posters and images of John F. Kennedy and had them hung throughout the school to create a better visual experience for the children. Additionally, many local primary schools took advantage of corresponding events at the Allied Museum and other special guided tours to learn more about John F. Kennedy and his work in Berlin.

Interested students, groups or even entire classes were also able to participate in a school-wide contest to demonstrate their creativity and bring John F. Kennedy to life within the school. At the end of the competition, Mr. Roth awarded the best submissions and our youngest students deserve special commendation for the enthusiasm, creativity and energy that they invested in their submissions!

Wer war John F.Kennedy? Was waren seine Botschaften? Woher hat unsere Schule den Namen?

Vom 26.-28.5. hatten alle Schüler die Gelegenheit, sich intensiv mit dem Leben und Schaffen sowie der Bedeutung von John F. Kennedy für unser Land und unsere Stadt auseinanderzusetzen. In Form von Projekten, mit kreativen Umsetzungen, mit Filmen, Führungen. Vielen Dank an alle Lehrer, die mit viel Engagement und Ideen ganz verschiedene Wege gefunden haben, das Thema JFK aufzugreifen!

Das 50th Festkomitee hatte eigens eine Reihe von Postern und verschiedenem Bildmaterial von John F.Kennedy organisiert und überall in der Schule aufgehangen, um die Tage für die Kinder noch besser erlebbar zu machen. Viele Grundschulklassen haben das Angebot des Alliiertenmuseums genutzt und in speziellen Führungen viel über John F.Kennedy und seinem Wirken in Berlin gelernt.

Wer Lust hatte, rund um das Thema John F.Kennedy kreativ zu werden, war aufgerufen, sich an einem Wettbewerb zu beteiligen als Schüler, als Gruppe oder als ganze Klasse. Herr Roth hat die besten Einreichungen prämiert, besonders unsere Jüngsten haben mit viel Eifer erstaunliche Werke kreiert!
